Michael Mirro significantly contributes to healthcare innovation and education through his role as chief academic research officer at Parkview Health since 2014. Collaborating with the chief digital and innovation officer, Dr. Mirro leads clinical research, health service informatics research, and oversees the Parkview Health Advanced Medical Simulation Center, innovation programs, and graduate medical education. Additionally, he holds positions as Clinical Professor of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine and Adjunct Professor of Bioinformatics at Indiana University.

Dr. Mirro’s academic contributions include over 50 peer-reviewed scientific articles and a role on the editorial board for the Cardiovascular Digital Health Journal. His expertise is recognized with fellowships in several prestigious medical colleges, including the American College of Physicians and American College of Cardiology. Beyond healthcare, he is actively engaged in Indiana’s business community, chairing the Northeast Indiana Elevate Ventures Board of Directors and serving on advisory councils and boards for several organizations and universities.

His board memberships extend to BioCrossroads and 16 Tech, economic development organizations in Indianapolis, and Zorion Medical. He also holds positions as medical director of VisCardia and scientific advisor for several San Francisco-based companies. Dr. Mirro’s education includes degrees from Loyola University, Chicago, and the Indiana University School of Medicine, from which he also received an honorary Doctor of Science degree in 2004. He is board certified in multiple medical specialties, underscoring his comprehensive expertise in healthcare.
